To get started...
- On the Document Camera's surface, press the power button. The button will be surrounded with a blue LED ring when it is powered on.
- On the Document Camera's surface, press the 'LIVE' mode button.
- On the PC, open an application--such as Zoom, which uses a webcam--and select the Samsung Document Camera as the desired webcam.
- The Samsung SDP-860 does not include a microphone, so you will need to provide a microphone by connecting it and selecting it within the video conferencing application:
- Connect the wired or wireless microphone to the PC's audio input jack;
- Connect a Bluetooth device to the computer's Bluetooth adapter;
- Connect a USB microphone, or a microphone which uses a USB adapter;
- Select a microphone from within the application's (Zoom's) audio settings. USB and Bluetooth devices will typically show up with their brand or model name, while devices conencted to the 1/8' mic jack on the computer will not be identified by name. In this case, select External Microphone, or Mic Input. Commonly used options from USB and Bluetooth may include:
- Trekz Air by AfterShokz
- Shure
- Nureva
- Logitech
- Successfully test for video from the document camera to the computer using one of these methods:
- Run the 'Test Speaker and Microphone' procedure, which is prompted every time you start a Zoom meeting.
- An alternative test of the video can be accomplished using the Microsoft Camera application.
- You may also use a browser to test the video, using a site such as https://testmycam.net
- Do not select 'Doc Cam' from among the inputs on the top of the teaching station. Instead, use the control system to select the computer to which you are connecting the camera and microphone. This will either be the:
- desktop PC (commonly labeled PC)
- laptop (commonly labeled HDMI or Laptop, or Laptop 2)
- Wall HDMI (if you are connecting to a wallplate interface that is located beneath a short throw interactive projector)
- Wireless Display (sometimes labeled Wireless)
